Two New Stretch Goals Unlocked + Livestream is Scheduled!
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jul 28, 2021 at 03:53:42 PM

How was your weekend? We had a GREAT one here at the Happy Hill campaign! In addition to getting some awesome summer fun in, we had a steady stream of new backers join this party and unlocked 3 Awesome Stretch Goals so far!

As you can see, we've now upgraded all HAPPY HILL #1A Covers with a FOIL STAMPED LOGO treatment at no extra charge!

AND, we're going to hook backers up with an Indie Horror Digital Comics Bonus Bundle! (More details on the great comics included in that to follow!)

Happy Hill Creator Livestream Q&A Scheduled!

Heads up, we've just scheduled the Happy Hill Creator Livestream Q&A for 8PM EDT on this coming Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

This is an opportunity to go deep inside the creation of Happy Hill and learn what it's like to make comics in these crazy times with two of the best doing it on the indie scene, Joe Mulvey and Rich Douek!

This conversation will be moderated by ComixTribe publisher and host of the ComixLaunch Podcast Tyler James, and it will be interactive!

The crew will even be giving out some PRIZES during the stream!

Now, you do NOT need to attend the stream to be eligible for a prize, but you WILL need to SUBMIT A QUESTION to be eligible for the bonus draw!

CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT A QUESTION IN THE COMMENTS OF THIS POST

What's great about this stream is that it'll be driven by the questions you, the backers, want the answers to, and as you can see, there've already been some great ones submitted:

Don't forget to get your Qs in by 6PM EDT Wednesday to be eligible for the bonus draw!

- ComixTribe Team

P.S. There are a ton of amazing projects on Kickstarter this month, and we want to make sure you don't miss a single one!

Our good pal from across the pond and Kickstarter supercreator Simon Birks is back on the platform with the next installment of his massively successful adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft Classic The Shadow Over Innsmouth Parts 1-2!

With over 1,100+ backers strong and just 10 days left, it's not hard to see why these projects are such big hits... Simon and the Blue Fox Comics team really are putting together the definitive adaptations of Lovecraft's most influential works.

The Shadow Over Innsmouth Parts One & Two will be enjoyed by anyone who loves great stories, gothic horror, spine-chilling art, and the sense of the macabre!

And because this campaign is doing so well, they've already added TWO bonus short stories to the volume for backers.

Ask a Question for the Live Q&A with the Happy Hill Team!
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Jul 25, 2021 at 08:30:32 PM

Great news,  Happy Hill Backers!

We just unlocked our first STRETCH GOAL... which is going to be a LIVE Q&A Creator Conversation with Happy Hill creators Joe Mulvey & Rich Douek!

To make the broadcast more fun, we're going to be dishing out a few ComixTribe prizes throughout... but here's the deal. To be eligible for one of these bonuses, all you need to do is ASK A QUESTION in the comments below this post!

We'll be using backer submitted questions to liven up the broadcast, so we need your stuff!

Feel free to ask about the book, the creative process, inspiration and more. Also cool is asking about past or future projects, book recommendations or other random stuff!

But again, to be on the list of potential bonus prize winners, we need at least one question from you in the comments below!

So, let's get those questions coming in... and we'll let you know when the live stream has been scheduled!

And don't look now, but the project is closing in on five-figures and unlocking a FOIL STAMPED COVER UPGRADE for the HAPPY HILL #1A Cover!

- ComixTribe Team

P.S. We have another beast of a project recommendation for you today!

We've been very impressed with the scope and ambition of the "Hero Tomorrow Comics Universe" that Ted Sikora has been building over the past few years.

If you haven't checked out his work yet, or maybe you have and you're looking for more, the launch for the latest installment in his BLOOM series is worth checking out!

The year is 1969. Ramsey is an aspiring comic book artist who is  trying to find inspiration for his femme fatale. When he meets wild  dancer, Regina, at a street fair he invites her into the woods for a character photoshoot where she begins to break on through to the other  side.

Witness the psycho-delic origin of the most powerful character in  the Hero Tomorrow Comics universe. A mind-bending 4 issue journey to  reshape your reality!

Snagging That Dream Cover!
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Jul 25, 2021 at 08:35:47 AM

One of artist Joe Mulvey's favorite series of the past decade has been the Image Comics series by Joshua Williamson and Mike Henderson, Nailbiter.

If you haven't checked it out, the series centers around the fictional town of Buckaroo, Oregon, which has produced sixteen of the United States' worst serial killers in U.S. History, dubbed the Buckaroo Butchers by urban culture.

Over the years, Joe has done some great Nailbiter pieces, from quick sketches like this one featuring the "Nailbiter" killer himself, Edward Charles Warren:

...to more elaborate commissions like this one:

And here's another commission Joe did, featuring a band of Buckaroo Killers!

Great stuff, right? As a fan of the series, you can tell Joe really put his best into these pieces.

So, you can only imagine how thrilled Joe was when Mike Henderson agreed to do a variant cover for Happy Hill!

And boy did Mike deliver!

Happy Hill variant cover lineart from Mike Henderson.

The entire ComixTribe crew's jaws dropped when this art rolled through... and then it dropped again when Chris Sotomayor dropped his amazing colors on it:

Colors by Chris Sotomayor

One of the best things about the world of comics is that opportunities will often pop up to work with creators you've long respected and admired.

We decided to make the Henderson cover our "metallic" variant, and it is available as an add-on to any pledge and is included in several of the higher tier bundles.

Hope you like taking a look!

P.S. We have another cool project for you today!

Our pal Will Allred is back with another installment of Crossover Division and this one features the Brides of Dracula!

Here's what CO is all about:

When stories come to life and threaten to fracture reality beyond repair, only an English professor and a research librarian have the knowledge and smarts to save us all.

Join Hank Wallace and Hector Ramirez in Crossover Division #2 as The Brides of Dracula attack! Hank & Hector must end the crossover with Stoker's Dracula or risk gothic horror overrunning the world.

Will and his team have put together an awesome array of covers for this book, but this one by Jenn St-Onge is probably our favorite!

Only a few more days until Crossover Division #1-2 wraps, so click here to jump onboard!

P.S. Our fans have told us they appreciate our recommendations, so throughout this launch, we'll be doing that in our updates!

And while I can't verify that he's ever been to space, I CAN tell you that Andrew knows what he's talking about when it comes to wrestling, as his alter ego is "The Animal" Bob Anger, a Professional wrestler at IWS and XZW.

Andrew has been creating comics for years and has worked for DC, IMAGE, TKO, Boom, Dynamite, HeavyMetal, UbiSoft & Behavior, but has put his all into this creator owned gem, featuring a number of incredible covers from amazing comic artists, including Cary Nord, Kark Kerschl and more!
